Many of you have been praying and follow Becky’s journey to healing, however God had different plans and took her home to be with Him yesterday morning.
I am incredibly sad, but also extremely grateful for the opportunity to not only meet Becky, but also to have spent some quality time with her and Jim during the Northeast Faith RXD Regional Conference this past September.
Becky and Jim Conzelman are the founders of @faithrxd which brings faith and fitness together literally all around the world at chapter meetings at CrossFit boxes.
I could never have imagined that while I was sharing my testimony back in November about the grief, pain and loss that came with being adopted that God was simultaneously weaving my life into a tapestry that connected me closer to Him and also to Becky and Jim.
It was by God’s providence that during one of the darkest times of my grieving that I would end up coming across @adreaager Instagram page. She was going to be sharing her testimony at a CrossFit box in Queens at a meeting called FaithRXD. At the time I didn’t have enough courage to drive out there, but I really want to attend. Two months later they were going to be hosting another one of these events and I felt that I had to go. I got in my car and drove there (nervous as all heck lol), but I knew this is where God was calling me to be. I was greeted by @petemontalvo who was so warm, kind and welcoming. I have to be honest I was a little star struck when I met Andrea for the first time! Lol
Fast forward to a year later, I began attending their monthly meetings with friends. One day we were on a hike and Andrea and Pete sort of called me out to possibly start a FaithRXD chapter out on Long Island. This led to meeting two others who were also interested in helping get a chapter started just a few more months later.
In October of 2017 we were headed out to attend an Iron Sharpens Iron conference in NJ where I would meet Becky and Jim for the first time and would hear the whole story of how FaithRXD came to exist and how it continues to grow both nationally and internationally.
Never in a million years would I ever have thought that this would be the plan for my life or that I would meet some amazing, encouraging, loving, on fire people like Becky, Jim, Andrea, Pete and Melissa during an extremely difficult period in my life.
Looking back it is easy to see that even through the darkest times God has a plan and He is there with you. It might not be what we want or how we think it should be at the time (believe me🏽♀️)! If you allow Him though, he will lead you, counsel you, and heal you. Trust in Him, He will lead your life where it needs to go and raise you to your full potential.
This is what Becky wanted to let the world know! God loves you and wants a relationship with you! Thank you for being such a beacon of light for the Lord, Becky. You will be greatly missed here, but I look forward to being with you again in heaven.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. – Ephesians 2:10
